Supporting research during the COVID-19 pandemic

This is a distressing time for us all in society. Particularly those of us with family, friends, and work colleagues who have been directly impacted by COVID-19.

As our colleagues in research come to terms with the short- and long-term impact of global lockdowns and restrictions on travel, we at Longboat continue to support our study teams, CRAs, site staff and patients as normal during this challenging period. We realize this is a time of uncertainty and flux for everyone, and that you may now be working hard on contingency plans for your trial. Longboat aims to support in any way we can.

The communication- and information-sharing features of the Longboat platform might be of particular benefit right now. Targeted and tracked distribution of study alerts and documents allows study teams to share updates on contingency plans, study timelines, decisions, business continuity plans, etc. The recent introduction of virtual video visit functionality to the platform supports the conduct of remote study visits.

Longboat also offers additional functionality and flexibility around the rapid development and deployment of training modules that can be used as an alternative to in-person Investigator Meetings (IMs) and Monitor Meetings, or assigned to attendees in advance of virtual IMs, as well as remote Site Initiation Visits.

In addition, Longboat is offering our colleagues that are currently striving to develop a vaccine or therapy for COVID-19 our site communication platform, 21 CFR Part 11 compliant document repository, training certification and Pre-Screen Navigator features at no charge.
